How Nowen works
Nowen operates differently from AI visibility trackers.
Instead of only asking AI engines how often they mention you, Nowen acts as a Cryptographic Hub for company facts. Each profile is built from the company's own website, approved by the company, signed with its domain's own key, and hosted where AI search crawlers already read.
AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity recommend the companies whose facts they can read and trust. A signature lets them check those facts came from the company, without taking anyone's word for it.
Signed, so anyone can check
Cryptographic Hub
Nowen is a Cryptographic Hub for company facts. It keeps a profile of every company, built from its own website. Once a company proves it owns its domain, every version it publishes is sealed exactly as approved and signed with a key that belongs to that domain alone. An assistant, a website or a person can then confirm it for themselves.
Sealed at publish
The approved profile is frozen and fingerprinted. Change one word afterwards and the fingerprint no longer matches.
One key per domain, kept in a vault
Each verified domain gets its own signing key. It never leaves the vault, and the owner can rotate or revoke it from the app.
A full publish history
Every publish leaves a dated receipt linked to the one before it, so anyone can see what the company approved, and when.
Anyone can check it
Nowen uses open, widely used standards, so anyone can confirm a signature for free with everyday tools. Nobody has to take Nowen's word for it.

What gets signed
AI agents
Nowen provides live AI agents for companies: one structured profile each, of what the company does, what it sells, who it sells to and who it competes with, built only from what its own website says. It's what gets signed, so it has to be right.
Built from the company's website
Products, market segments, buyers and published pricing, taken from the company's own domain, each fact traced to the page it came from.
Nothing invented
If the website doesn't say it, the profile doesn't either. A missing fact stays blank, never estimated or guessed.
From Unclaimed to signed
Every profile starts Unclaimed. A company email makes it Claimed, so the owner can approve and correct every line. Adding one record to the domain makes it Verified, and from then on every version it publishes is signed.
Example profile. The blank is the point: no price was published, so none is shown.

The badge on fernwood.co
Carries the signature itself, is only served while every check passes, and opens the verification page.
Proof that travels
AI assistants
Instead of leaving AI to figure out how to read your website, Nowen publishes each profile in the formats AI crawlers read natively, and the signature goes everywhere the profile goes.
Read by AI assistants
GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and the rest of the 18+ AI crawlers we recognize read Nowen profiles. Owners see which assistants read theirs, and when.
Inside AI tool answers
When an assistant looks a company up through Nowen's MCP connector, the signed statement comes back with the profile, ready to check.
A badge that can't be copied
Every site that shows a Nowen Verified badge runs the same four checks first. Fail one, and the badge simply isn't shown.
An open verify API
Public keys, the latest signature and the domain's status, free and without an account, for anyone who wants to check for themselves.
How it differs from prompt-tracking platforms
Nowen vs. trackers
To see how Nowen earns visibility, compare it with the AI monitoring tools that run prompts through AI engines and count the mentions.
| Feature | AI visibility trackers | Nowen |
|---|---|---|
| Core method | Runs a list of prompts through AI engines and counts mentions and citations. | Publishes signed, machine-readable company profiles for AI crawlers, then asks ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI Overviews whether they name you. |
| Primary goal | Reactive: monitor what AI already says. | Proactive: give AI clear facts it can check, then see whether they land. |
| Data control | None. It depends on whatever AI picked up around the web. | High. Only the domain's owner approves what is published, and every publish is signed with the domain's own key. |
| Proof | None. An answer is only as good as its sources. | A signature anyone can check, tied to a record in the company's own DNS. |
| Altered copies | Out of view. | A copy changed anywhere after publishing fails the check. |
| Missing facts | The assistant fills the gap from memory. | Left blank, never guessed. |
| Buyer questions | The prompts you write and maintain. | Written from your markets. Edit any, and add as many of your own as you need. |
A tracker tells you where you stand. Nowen gives AI facts it can check, and the facts that move it.
Do you still need a tracker?
Usually not. Nowen writes the buyer questions your markets ask, you add your own, and each one goes to ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI Overviews. Every check is kept, so you see what changed after you improved your profile.
Evidence, not best practice
Most advice on getting found by AI is a checklist: add an FAQ, add structured data, publish more. Nowen keeps a control group, so what it learns about what moves AI answers is checked against what happens without it.

Run the AI visibility checkQuestions people ask
What is an AI visibility tracker?
A tool that runs a list of prompts through AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and reports how often your company is mentioned or cited in the answers. It is also called a GEO (generative engine optimization) tracker or a prompt-tracking tool.
Is Nowen a GEO tool?
Yes, and more. Nowen measures how AI assistants see you, like a tracker does, and then gives them a structured, signed profile of your company to read, which you control.
What does Cryptographic Hub mean?
Nowen holds a signing key for every verified company domain and signs each profile the company publishes. Anyone can check that signature against the public key, so an AI assistant can tell a company-approved profile from a copy someone changed.
What's the difference between Claimed and Verified?
Claimed means someone with a company email took ownership, and can approve and correct the profile. Verified means the company also added a record to its domain's DNS, so its profile is signed every time it's published.
Who holds my company's key?
Nowen, in a vault the key never leaves. It is used only to sign your domain's profile when you publish, every use leaves a receipt in your publish history, and you can rotate or revoke it from the app at any time.
What if the DNS record goes missing?
Nowen checks it daily. If it's missing for 5 days in a row, your profile stays up but shows as Claimed instead of Verified, and you get an email.
What if my website is missing information?
The profile leaves it blank instead of guessing. Add it to your website, or to your profile once you've claimed it.
