Activating Inner Development in Tourism

Activating inner development in tourism is a practice-oriented product that explores how inner development approaches can support transformative change in the tourism sector. Researchers from Inholland University of Applied Sciences and Breda University of Applied Sciences applied the Inner Development Guide framework in a professional tourism context. A participatory workshop, grounded in systems thinking and transformative learning, was designed and implemented with stakeholders connected to Amsterdam’s tourism sector. Findings show that self-reflection on personal values, emotions, and mental models is valuable but challenging, signaling the need for sustained engagement, clear facilitation, and time to foster inner work. The project frames inner development as a long-term, collective learning process that complements outer, structural change.

Staan we met taal vooraan? describes the Met Taal Vooraan (MTV) training, which is offered by logopedists to pedagogical professionals at preschools to stimulate language development. Since 2020 a train-the-trainer course has been introduced to equip logopedists with tools to provide MTV to professionals. The project maps the implementation of this training by logopedists who completed the course between 2020 and 2024 and collects information on application, level of implementation, and barriers and enablers in transferring the course to practitioners.
