VA Health Systems Research advances Veterans' health through health services research across a network of VA centers.

VA Health Systems Research (HSR) is a program within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs dedicated to advancing the health and well‑being of Veterans through health services research. It coordinates a national portfolio of research centers and networks that study health care delivery, patient outcomes, mental health, chronic disease, and implementation science in order to improve care within the VA health system. HSR supports a community of researchers, fellows and staff; offers career development opportunities; and disseminates findings to policymakers, clinicians and VA program leaders. Through Centers of Innovation and specialized consortia, HSR fosters collaboration across VA sites and partners, translating evidence into practice to enhance access, quality and efficiency of care for Veterans. The work targets a wide audience, including clinicians, administrators and researchers, with the aim of informing policy, guiding resource allocation and advancing quality improvement across VA health care delivery.
